Teens focus on grief coping projects at Safe Space Camp.

Hospice Bereavement/Safe Space Camp

St. Anthony’s Hospice Bereavement Program offers individuals and families who have suffered a loss free pastoral care and bereavement counseling for a year. Support groups meet regularly to provide assistance in conjunction with personal therapy and continued evaluation how families are dealing with their loss.

Safe Space Camp, a grief counseling camp, is also available free of charge for teens who have suffered a traumatic loss of a parent, grandparent, sibling or person in their lives through hospice, illness or tragedy.

Making a memorial gift that enables another family to cope with a loss, or provides emotional support for a young-person is a remarkable legacy to leave for a loved one.

“At first, I didn’t want to go to camp,” Jacob admitted.“But it really helped me and I wound up having a great time.I used to feel really sad all the time, and the counselors helped me channel my anger by writing down my feelings.”
