Special dedication held Oct. 14 at de Greeff Hospice House

Three families attended special dedications Oct. 14 in memory of loved ones at the de Greeff Hospice House.

The first ceremony was a grotto and sculpture dedications for the Sewall and Memmolo families. The grotto was made possible through a generous donations from David and Martha Sewall, both physicians, in loving memory of Vasiliki Papay, Dr. Martha Sewall’s mother.

The sculpture was donated by Mr. and Mrs. Rizziero Memmolo in loving memory of their son, Ciriaco “Jerry” Memmolo, M.D., who was a popular St. Anthony’s surgeon.

After that ceremony, the Leibachs celebrated the life of Nancy and Marvin Leibach at a bench dedication in their memory. The bench was made possible by the generosity of the Leibach family and other donors, including St. Anthony’s Medical Center staff members.

“It was a great day for the de Greeff House and for the families,” said Michael Eschbach, development officer for St. Anthony’s Charitable Foundation. “The grotto, sculpture and bench are a great addition and provide a place of solitude for our patients or anyone. If you have not seen it yet, we recommend that you stop by and see it. It is directly behind the de Greeff Hospice House.
